What is literacy in the 21st century? LIMITED

The technological world is shaping learning environments and the working world at a fast pace and, as a result, redefining the literacy skills that will be necessary for young people to be successful.
This day long workshop will provide teachers with both intellectual and material support for effective 21st-century literacy instruction, engaging participants with:
• 21st century literacies (definitions and designs) and their relevance for education
• The importance of multimodality and digital learning
• Practical examples utilizing 21st century learning environments and teaching methods
Participants will have the opportunity to explore and plan activities that use linguistic, visual and audio modes in order for learners to experience, conceptualize, analyze and apply meaning.
