Schools on the Move: Essential Leadership Skills for Sustained School Improvement
Limited Capacity seats available

The quality of school leadership is one of the most important factors in creating a high performing school. Principals who lead such schools possess a set of skills that enable them to create continuous growth in student learning, teacher learning and school culture. In this session, participants will learn about a program designed to develop these advanced skills in experienced principals. The structure and content of QRTA’s Advanced Instructional Leadership Development Program will be the focus of this session.

Motivating Through Drama
Limited Capacity seats available

Drama aims to tap into and develop a child’s innate ability to experiment with language, to imagine and to create. Accordingly, many of the activities demonstrated in this session will focus on fluency, with an emphasis on creativity and co-operation. However, drama also allows for lively ways to focus on accuracy and controlled practice of language and we will be looking at some of these too.

I would like this to be a practical, hands-on session where participants get involved and try out activities for themselves. However, for those who just wish to sit and watch…..feel free to do just that.

Project-based Learning in Primary Classes
Limited Capacity seats available

Project-based learning puts the students’ natural curiosity at the centre of the learning process, making each project an individual, student-driven experience, and ensuring that the students are involved and learning from it. In this session, we’ll be looking at 3 projects for primary classes which use the inquiry method to encourage participation and motivation. By the end of this session participants will be able to create and carry out student-led inquiry-based projects in their primary classes.
